Melissa teaches lessons for violin, voice, guitar, piano, and viola from a studio at 2412 Westlake Ave N on the western shore of Lake Union in Seattle. Melissa teaches kids ages 4 and up, teens, and adults, beginning through advanced. She teaches a variety of styles and genres depending on student interest, with the emphasis on building skill and relaxed technique with music that is intriguing. Melissa uses her training in classical music, the Suzuki method, improvisation, rock, fiddling, song-writing, jazz, and folk to teach music with meaning and joy, while maintaining the necessary challenge for student growth.
