Melissa will initially use her own resources. Once your needs are assessed, you will occasionally need to purchase sheet music and/or accessories, but Melissa is sensitive to financial needs and will limit required purchases. All students should own a music stand for home and bring a journal or notebook paper to each lesson. Violin, guitar, piano, and viola students will need his/her own instrument and some accessories (piano students use the studio piano during lessons). Melissa would love to consult with you regarding renting/purchasing an instrument. Please be wary of buying something from a department store or online. A good rule of thumb is: If the store sells clothes and/or groceries, do not buy an instrument there! There are fantastic music stores in the area with quality instruments at affordable rental/purchase prices. For those who already own an instrument, Melissa will gladly work with your current equipment, as long as it is in good, working order.
